K9 Friends: Adopt a rescue dog in Dubai

Do you love dogs? Do you have the heart to take care and foster rescued dogs? Can you handle responsibilities? Are you interested to own one?  If so, there's  a big chance that you will be able to find one.

K9 Friends is a running a non-profit making, voluntary organisation in Dubai located in Jebel Ali.

We are so grateful to have been a part of their good service in protecting stray dogs. I am very impressed with their genuine affection and dedication.

We adopted "Dobbie", a 6 years old pug. He's been with us for almost a year now. He's a sweet beautiful thing that lights up our mood. When we first got him he seemed very anxious however as time passes he's more confident knowing that he won't be abandoned again.

Priceless is the term I used whenever I see him greeting me every time I arrive home.

For more information on how you can own one you can visit K9's website.

MacFarlane's English Teaching & Editing Solutions | Dubai | UAE

Dubai's economy is regaining it's feet from the previous years of recession. I have read some news about new businesses opening their doors to welcome applicants varying from different fields - a great news for job seekers.

I have been living in Dubai for more than a year and have noticed that the most common available jobs are in the field of hospitality. Obviously because of the fast growth of commercialism in the city and the never ending constructions of new hotels and skyscrapers - therefore it needs manpower. From receptionist to service staff, one important requirement is to must have an excellent English communication skill.

Yes! One can land a job just by having an average or below average English skills. However, I believe everyone is entitled to grow and prosper on their jobs right? Isn't it a great feeling to possess such confidence at your job where you can apply proper English any where and any time.

English is my second language but sometimes I consider it as my primary language because most of the time I feel comfortable expressing and find some of my native dialect hard to use.

Aside from learning at school, I am exposed to English television programs which makes me feel grateful for the Americans for colonizing the Philippines. According to mapsofworld.com and wiki.answers.com, Philippines ranked third of the list of countries who speak English.

There are 76.2 million people who speak English in the Philippines. There are 120 to 175 different languages spoken here, many being native tribal languages. Spanish was the official language for a good period of time going back to the Spanish occupation. However, after the United States occupied the country after World War II, English did begin to replace Spanish. A dialogue of one of the native languages of Tagalog was later declared a co-primary language along with English. This language later became known as Filipino. As a result, the total number of English speakers is quite high at 78%. www.omgtoplists.com

I'm not yet confident when I put English into writing and sometimes I lost thought of the right words to use. My English skill isn't excellent neither bad but I'm getting there slowly at a time. Since I started blogging it opened my eyes for what have been broad opportunities of what this important skill can do. I wanted to widen my knowledge in learning proper English and the proper way of writing.

I am so grateful to have been one of the students of Seonaid MacFarlane at MacFarlane's English Teaching & Editing Solutions.

WATCH: Footage of the elusive deep-sea oarfish

I wonder how many undiscovered species living in the deepest darkest ocean. Trying to hide from the surface of the earth. Countless surreal animals like the one in the film Life of Pi where they lit up at night like neon lights.

I really find this topic interesting. Lochness monster is perhaps a creation of human mind however I believe that there are some hard to explained things that are true despite the theories and lack of proof.

Pappa Roti in Dubai Mall

What a perfect way to reward your self from a stressful week for a blended coffee and a roti.

"It all begins from the moment you sink your teeth into the outer layer of the bun. The sound that follows every crunch defines the basis of our philosophy of seeking perfection in every bite. The crispy layer on top of our bun comes from a creamy topping that has been created with only the finest flour and omega-3 eggs. To ensure that every inch of our bun is covered in this secret topping recipe, our staffs are trained to apply the topping in beautiful concentric circles. The look of our pre-baked buns covered with the coffee caramel topping is a sight that has been often photographed. We believe that the process is as important as the result and you will often see our staff meticulously applying the topping to our buns before serving it to you freshly baked from the oven." - PappaRoti Cafe

Urgh jealous! So amazed with these cute couple that is why I sneaked in to shoot them. They're wearing the same clothing like a uniform Hehe. How I envy them! I admit its so hard to live away from home and as well as leaving your love ones.

I can say at this stage Im still undergoing my treatment for homesickness. Its been 3 months and I wanna go home! They say first 6 months is a tough month for starters but I believe less than that I'll be able to cope up well, hopefully in time.

Appreciating Italian Slow Food Concept

my first taste of italian pizza (diavola pepperoni -left, pollastrona - center, margherita con bufala - right)

I can say I am just so blessed and was destined to work here in Dubai as I got hired from my first week even I was not able to enjoy vacation and leisure yet, too bad. However thats not a big issue to me as long as I reached the goal that I had planned all along is worth the sacrifice. Eventually, I signed the contract and transfer of visa was immediately processed. Pay is reasonable and not too bad for a start as a beginner here in Dubai. Just taking orders from customers over the phone, simple as that.

The idea of appreciating the organic foods and healthy lifestyle is still in the run for fast-paced world especially here in Dubai. Majority of consumers tend to dwell on fast foods since it gives them convenience for the reason that they are starving but for the Italians they eat because they are more into enjoying the food as they eat. Not just because they are starving. That is what I have learned as I worked in 800 Pizza. The best italian pizza in Dubai.

Tallest Building of the world - Burj Khalifa

I wonder if Tom Cruise is still there? Hmm too bad I'm too late. Anyways,  Burj Khalifa's magnificent structure is just 10 minutes walk away from me with this shot. It has been recognised as the tallest building of the world. As you know, Dubai's ambitious inclination to be always the number one in all sorts of things. I took this picture while I was riding a bus heading to Dubai Mall.

Time for a ladies night out

Nothing beats a girl friend to chat with and a drink to share with. An unexpected Monday night pushed without worrying the fact that we have duties the next day. Meet Laurice, my first buddy here in Dubai which I met in my cousins flat too generous to invite me for some drinks. Without any thoughts I am so grateful for the invite. We went to a fine lounge which is called Left bank located in Suok Al Bahar in Downtown Dubai. Its a suited place to hang out with friends as well as business meetings. Its a quite place to chill out just perfect for the chatting and bonding moments with friends.

After an hour or two of chilling out. We transfer to a pub called Nell Gwynne in Byblos Hotel. Awesome live band took the stage playing some of modern tracks such as Adele and ska music. I soo much enjoyed the ambience and the music. Total of 6 glasses of cocktails in front of us. Damn Im nearly to get totally wasted. Thankfully I was able to return home safe.
